Prostitutes and women affected by violence who wanted to change or improve their working situation or wanted to learn something different were accompanied and supported by the network profrida during integration into labour. Measures mutually agreed to the competences and needs of these women, were developed and offered.
Providers which worked together with the target groups of profrida joined together with providers of job qualification, protagonists of labour politics, associations and institutions as well as interested people of free market economy. Our aim was the best support for the members of the project.
Within twenty months profrida carried out an extensive bundle of measures. First there was the individual planning of measures within consultations and profiling. Within the first two months already 35 women could be admitted into the project. Altogether 50 places were available.
Beginning with April 2006 the women could join a four month's basic qualification for labour market. Depending on requirements modules were offered like German language for foreigners, commercial calculation, working with telecommunication systems and computers as well as application training. Agreement of individual learning goals as well as giving methods for self-organized learning were part of this measure.
From August 2006 to June 2007 special qualifications were implemented, one in the nursing sector, one in marketing and sale. profrida itself didn't offer any training or retraining that leads to a professional qualification. The thematic emphases of the qualifications developed in the network. Therefore the first phase of the project has been evaluated to find out, what kind of preconditions and desires the women had. At this point the modules tied on.
When required, profrida supported other ways of integration into the labour market for these women, as direct start of working, looking for a place to train or participation in other measures of further education.
profrida will supplement the offers of advice and qualification by special coaching the getting into labour whether as employees or as founder of a new business.
The aim of the project was the improvement of the supply situation for the above mentioned target groups in NRW. profrida has systematically recorded and incorporated critically the demands of measures supporting the pursuit of jobs for prostitutes and women affected by violence.
The project was carried out from January 2006 to August 2007. The total financial volume is 1.050.000 €. The project was supported by resources of North Rhine-Westphalia and the European Social Funds.
